In a weird occurrence of life imitating art, Mohammed Ammer Ali, a 31-year-old British man, recently attempted to purchase the poisonous substance ricin through the dark web. Ricin is the same drug that Walter White uses on the show Breaking Bad to poison his partner Jesse's girlfriend's son. The tiniest amount of ricin is enough to kill a human, and Ali was attempting to order 500mg, which would be enough to kill 1,400 people.

Ali tried to buy the ricin through the dark web, but what he didn't realize is that he wasn't communicating with a drug dealer, he was communicating with an FBI agent. Records show that Ali requested the drug be delivered in five 100mg tablets. His search history indicted that he had searched the terms "chinchillas liverpool", "animal rescue centre" and "small sized pets" giving some clues as to what he might have been planning to do.
However, after Ali was arrested and put on trial, it was determined that he has a development disorder, and the judge ruled that there was no concrete evidence he was planning a terrorist attack. When asked for comment Ali said, "I was interested in the Dark Net and ricin - I found lots of different items ranging from drugs, guns, other illegal items, and because I had been watching Breaking Bad, I just had ricin on my mind."
