Which Countries Have The Most Generous People?
Although there is much conflict worldwide, global charity giving has increased. So which countries have the most generous populations?
The Charities Aid Foundation ranks each country based on how charitable their population is in the annual World Giving Index. Given their relative wealth, it's perhaps unsurprising that Australia, New Zealand and the United States are some of the most generous countries in the world. Much of their populations regularly donate money to humanitarian and community services.
What's slightly more unexpected is that Myanmar, a fairly poor nation, is even more generous than Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. Over the past five years, Myanmar has consistently ranked as the most generous country in the world, with more than 9 out of ten people saying they had recently donated money.
What makes Myanmar so generous year after year? Watch today's Seeker Daily video to find out more.
