What A Syrian Refugee's Dangerous Journey Looks Like
Check out how Syrian and Iraqi Migrants journeyed to the coast of the Greek Island Lesbos.
A Syrian man was rescued from drowning off the coast of the Greek island Lesbos by a group of local men. The drowning man was traveling in a dinghy with many other Syrian and Iraqi migrants when their motor failed and he tried to swim for help.
The dinghy was eventually towed to shore where the migrants wept with happiness, thankful they'd survived this terrifying ordeal. Volunteers from international NGO's treated wounds and helped comfort young children as best they could.
This year 430,000 migrants and refugees have traveled across the Mediterranean. 309,000 of them have landed in Greece.
