Many residents of California are hopeful that within the next year, marijuana will be legal for recreational use in the Golden State. Some are so hopeful in fact, that they've begun creating entire events themed around cannabis.
For example, Coreen Carroll and Ryan Bush started a dinner party series where guests can partake in cannabis joints and small edibles between delicious and creative course offerings, appropriately titled the Cannaiseur Dinner Party. The couple partnered with EatWith.com and FlowKana to put on the first event in San Francisco this spring. The dinner included a 4-course menu of non-medicated cuisine, served with beer and wine. Then between each course there was a specially selected joint to complement the experience of the meal. Also available at the gathering were lightly medicated edibles using organic, sun grown cannabis from a variety of Bay Area medical marijuana brands.

Coreen designed the food menu to highlight the ways in which California has inspired her throughout the years. She planned and cooked the impressive meal, while her fiancé Ryan, who is a cannabis entrepreneur, was as the event host.
Of the exclusive 24 person dinner, each guest was required to possess a valid California Prop 215 medical marijuana card.
