Watch a Lightning Storm From Space

A mundane weather pattern looks all the more spectacular from outer space

Earlier this week, British astronaut Tim Peake tweeted this video while aboard the International Space Station. It captures a lightning storm as the state travels across North America toward Russia. Watch it below:

It's amazing to think that we live in a time when an astronaut can post a time-lapse video to Twitter and it's suddenly available to the whole world.
