Most people already know that toads are poisonous, but do you know where they actually store their potent toxins? It is not simply in their skin like a poison frog; it's actually contained near the base of their heads in what is called the parotoid glands.
What's even more fascinating is that it's said that these glands are capable of spraying this toxin when they are squeezed or bitten by a predator. To demonstrate this effect, Coyote Peterson will gently manipulate the glands of an invasive cane toad to not only show you what the poison looks like, but also to see if it really does spray!
Get ready...because the poison's about to fly!
