Since 2003, Russian racers have gathered every summer about 55 miles from St. Petersburg, for a one-of-a-kind race across the Vuoska River. First prize goes to the competitor to reach the opposite bank, but there's a catch: the racers aren't swimming, they're riding rafts. And another catch: they aren't so much rafts as they are sex dolls.

It's the Bubble Baba Challenge, an event that's gotten more and more popular since creator Dmitry Bulawinov thought it up at a party nine years ago. This year's edition included more than 800 participants, of both sexes; the minimum age is 16. Everyone wears a life vest, many wore helmets as well.
