As many as 10 refugees may be competing in the Rio Olympics later this year. This week, the International Olympics Committee (IOC) announced that 43 athletes have been identified as potential olympians. "We have all been touched by the magnitude of this refugee crisis. By welcoming this team, we want to send a message of hope to all the refugees in the world," said IOC president Thomas Bach at a press conference. The athletes who ultimately qualify for the Games will compete under the flag of the IOC.
