Before 1996, Mariam Paré was on the path to become an artist. When Mariam was driving her friend's car in 1996, a stray bullet hit her, leaving her with paralysis below her neck. That could have very well been the end to her career.

But it wasn't. Thanks to months of occupational therapy, Mariam learned how to sign her name with a pen in her mouth. After that, the rest is history and Mariam's talent landed her a spotlight in the art scene. Check out her wonderful wonderful story in the video above.
