The Hendo hoverboard is actually only one small part of Arx Pax's ambitious technology initiative. The company is hoping that its Magnetic Field Architecture system will have useful applications in transportation, construction and engineering.
The same system that allows a rider to move on the hovering Hendo can be used with objects or vehicles, enabling omnidirectional motion, propulsion, braking and rotation without the object ever actually touching another surface. Arx Pax is even working with NASA to use the MFA technology for manipulating small microsatellites in orbit.

Final build on the new boards won't be completed until next week, but Arx Pax sent Discovery News some photos from the busy workshop.
