In a recent Google+ post, the search-behemoth-turned-automobile-designer confirmed that its self-driving car is devoid of windshield wipers, which, if you think about it, makes perfect sense. If a human being isn't piloting the vehicle, why would the windshield need to be clear of rain?
To be fair, the vehicle does come equipped with wipers, just not on the windshield. Instead, the wipers are located over the car's sensors, which Google refers to as its "eyes."

Also missing from the prototype: a steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal.
