Our phones are computers. So why can't our computers be phones?
That idea could become a reality. According to Ubergizmo, Apple has filed a patent to add cellular service to its MacBooks.

Such a move would make getting online easier, especially when Wi-Fi connection is spotty.
Some iPads already use 4G cellular capability. The 4G standard allows people to access the Internet and to make phone calls using an Internet service such as Skype or Google Talk.

If a MacBook had 4G capabilities, a person could do the same -- as long as 4G service was available in the area.
When such a feature might be available on a MacBook is difficult to say, since this was merely a patent application. But according to Ubergizmo, a MacBook Pro refresh is rumored for later in 2016. So, keep your ears perked.
