What do you get the lucky bride and groom who have everything? A toaster? Certainly you can't have too much toast -- but what about guaranteeing some sunshine for photos on the big day? For £100,000 (currently $152,000 American) a company is offering just that.
The service, offered for destination weddings in France with plans to expand to the UK, is pretty straightforward.
A plane performs cloud bursting, using silver iodide to seed the clouds the day before the event. Water vapor condenses around the clouds, leading to rain within 24 hours. The next day however, clears up nicely -- and predictably -- so guests won't be soaked.
Luxury vacation planners Oliver's Travels say they can "100 percent guarantee fair weather and clear skies for your wedding day!"
As long as there's no hurricane in the forecast -- this is science, not an actual miracle -- sloppy weddings, for the right price, are a thing of the past.
