John McCain's Brain Cancer: Here's What You Need to Know

While early detection for all cancers is important, a diagnosis of glioblastoma — the deadliest form of brain cancer — is always bad news.

J J ohn McCain returned to the US Senate on Tuesday to cast a critical vote in favor of opening debate on repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, popularly known as Obamacare. His vote carries particular resonance because McCain is facing a diagnosis of glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He recently underwent a minimally invasive procedure to remove a blood clot above his left eye, and during that procedure the surgeons took a biopsy that found the cancer.
