What do you get when you combine 12 teams of hardcore adventurers, old-school Ural sidecar motorbikes, 1500km of frozen rivers and ice roads, and temperatures cold enough to freeze your tookus off? An epic adventure, that’s for sure, but to be more precise, you get The Ice Run.
The latest zany event from The Adventurists is happening right now, as teams travel from the southern end of the River Ob toward the north Siberian town of Salekhard (the only town in the world built on the Arctic Circle). And why would anyone choose to put themselves through this, other than to be able to say they’ve done it? To raise money for charity, of course.
