Anti-Smoking Laws Are Working: Thanks to the laws banning smoking from public areas and certain private establishments, people are living healthier lives, reports CNN.

The report comes after two separate studies cite fewer visits to hospitals for tobacco-related ailments. One of the studies said "Areas that restrict public smoking saw a prompt and sustained decline in both hospital admissions and deaths from a variety of causes related to smoking, including heart disease, stroke, and many lung conditions."

While both cited reduced visits, they looked at the visits from different vantage points. One studied specific regions and the other looked at a collection of related studies to find commonalities.

Though both studies say the Smoke-Free spaces and laws are likely responsible, they're not venturing to guess how much so, or what part of those laws are specifically helpful. via CNN
