Sandy Kills W.Va. Candidate: DNews Nuggets
West Virginia Candidate Killed by Sandy: A Republican candidate for the West Virgina House of Delegates was killed during a snowstorm brought by Sandy, reports Inquisitr.
John Rose Sr., a 60-year-old legislative candidate was running for office in Barbour County, W.Va., when he was killed on Tuesday. His son, George Rose said his father was "checking the fences on his deer farm," reports the Associated Press, when he was "struck by a falling tree limb."
As the election is too close to change ballot, there will be a sign posted at polling places informing voters of Rose's passing. If he wins the most votes, the county Republican party will select three people to replace Rose. Those names will then be submitted to the Governor of West Virginia, Earl Ray Tomblin, a Democrat, for the final selection for the seat. via Inquisitr and WDTV
