Early in January, Hasbro announced it was going to replace one of it's Monopoly game pieces and asked Facebook fans to vote on the new addition. The choices were: cat, diamond ring, guitar, helicopter or toy robot. The votes are in and the cat has won. It will replace the iron, which got the least amount of votes to stay in.

The surviving tokens include the race car, a Scottie dog, a battleship, a top hat, a thimble, a shoe, and a wheelbarrow. It may come as no shock that the Scottie dog was the most popular, receiving 29 percent of the votes.

Are you sad to see the iron go? My favorite piece are the dog and wheelbarrow.

This isn't the first time the Monopoly board game, which was released in 1934, has introduced replacement tokens. Back in the 1950s, the lantern, purse and rocking horse were replaced with the dog, wheelbarrow and a horse and rider. Other pieces that have been cast include the sack of money, locomotive, cannon and boot.
