The iPhone 6 isn't due out until fall, but we've already seen images of a host of alleged mockups of Apple's next handset. Today, however, we're getting a look at how the iPhone 6 might compare to the iPhone 5s, and the difference is striking.

The images, which were posted to the Italian site, show what appears to be a mock of the iPhone 6 next to Apple's current generation smartphone. The purpose of the photos, the writer says, is to provide Apple fans with an idea of how much larger the iPhone 6, which is expected to be between 4.7 and 5 inches, will be than its predecessor. Placed side-by-side, the mockup of the iPhone 6 is clearly thinner than the 5s. Apple also appears to have moved the power button from the top of the handset to the side. That makes sense as reaching up to the top of the phone would be more difficult with such a large screen.

From the look of the mockup, the iPhone 6 may take a good number of design queues from Apple's iPad mini and iPad Air. The edges are more rounded then the iPhone 5s and there doesn't appear to be a silver banding between the front and rear of the handset as with the 5s.

What the leaked images don't tell us is what kind of specs the iPhone 6 will come with. According to previous reports, the 6 is expected to feature a 20-nanometer, quad-core, 64-bit A8 processor, which may make the iPhone the most powerful smartphone on the market. The 4.7-inch version of the iPhone 6 is expected to feature a 1600 x 900-pixel resolution display, while a potential 5.5-inch version could include a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution display.

In terms of camera specs, the iPhone 6 is said to come with a 10-megapixel sensor with a f/1.8 aperture lens. The handset could also include a resin lens filter. Other reports say the 6 could feature a new kind of camera that uses two separate image sensors, one that captures luma data (brightness) and another that captures chroma data (color).
