Science can be enlightening for both the mind and the spirit, it can explore the vast reaches of the universe from the impossibly small to the fantastically massive. But sometimes we just want to use science to blow stuff up.

Here at Plymouth University, Professor Roy Lowry uses liquid nitrogen and 1,500 ping pong balls to illustrate a scientific principle (we hope). When put inside a closed bottle, the liquid nitrogen will eventually cause an explosion. Professor Lowry uses the expansion to show students something fantastic, before hopefully taking them back to the classroom to teach them about Boyle's Law. via YouTube
