If you’ve never heard of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, it’s one of the most dangerous races you can compete in — an annual race up the Pikes Peak Highway, where drivers climb 4,720 feet to the finish at 14,110 feet, taking the 156 turns along the way as fast as they can.

Mix adrenaline, competition, high altitudes and hairpin turns and sometimes things go wrong. And this year, one driver’s ride went horribly wrong. Jeremy Foley and his co-driver Yuri Kouznetsov took the notorious turn, known as the Devil’s Playground and the site of more than one crash, a little too fast. And, as you’ll see in the video, they flew off the edge, rolling down the side of Pikes Peak, while their car shreds into pieces.

Fortunately Foley and Kouznetsov survived the crash with serious, but not life threatening injuries. According to Yahoo Sports, Foley Posted on his Facebook page, “Yuri and I are ok. A little beaten up but nothing major.” Rolled down the side of a mountain and still able to post a Facebook status? I’d say that’s pretty major.
