Become A Superhero...In Action Figure Form
Sci-Fi and comic book fans, what I'm about to tell you may cause you so much joy that you might go into cardiac arrest. So, please, try and remain calm.
You may not know it, but U.K. novelty company, Firebox, holds your dreams in the palm of their hands. Here's how:
DNEWS VIDEO: MIND-CONTROLLED ROBOTS, CYBORGS AND ROBOTIC CARS
You can upload well-lit front and profile head shots of yourself to their website. Just make sure your photos are against a neutral background and take off your glasses. Trust me, with what they're going to do with your pictures, you won't need your specs. Know why? Because your super power vision will render them useless!
That's right, if you've ever longed for super powers, now is you chance to obtain them…albeit in action figure form.
Firebox will use your photos to create a 3-D-printed superhero head of your likeness that can be placed on one of five action figures of your choice. Simply pop off the stock superhero head and replace it with your own.
However, your superhero choices are limited to DC Comics' classics. Batman, Batgirl, Superman, The Joker and Wonder Woman are what you have to work with. So Marvel fans, you're just going to have to be patient, or else drown Firebox's mailbox with missives demanding fair representation from the Marvel Universe.
This isn't the first time someone has gone into the personalized superhero action figure business. Canadian artist Steve Nichols once ran a toy business that made custom figures complete with distinct packaging.
But if you're going the Firebox route, it's going to set you back $127. That may sound expensive, but that's a small price to pay for action figure immortality.
