17-Pound Lobster Saved from Pot: A 17-pound lobster nicknamed Lucky Larry is living to see the sea once more, The Daily Mail reports.

Good lobsterian Don MacKenzie, of Niantic, Conn., a boat dealer, heard that the lobster was on the menu at a local restaurant and that kids were going there to see it before it got boiled, boiled or grilled.

Given that the lobster is estimated to be from 70 to100 years old, MacKenzie thought it would be a pity to end its life now.

MacKenzie wouldn't reveal Lucky Larry's asking price, since it had been reserved for an upcoming dinner.

"Let's just say that it's the most expensive lobster I never ate," he told the New London Day newspaper. via The Daily Mail
